Yoga unites the mind, body, and soul in a way that eases tension and promotes health. Regular practice improves breathing , increases endurance for other activities, and promotes mindfulness. Take a break from your day. Focus yourself and find clarity.
The word Yoga means to unify or to join. It is derived from the Sanskrit word 'Yuj'. In Yoga this signifies the bringing together of Body, Mind, Breath and Emotions.
Seasonal Yoga takes traditional Ashtanga and Hatha Yoga and brings together seasonal living and traditional ancient eastern practices of Daoism and Confucianism to compliment the ancient yoga teaching of Patanjali.
Seasonal Yoga is a practice that can assist us to take these traditional practices and use them to support our health and wellbeing in the modern world. Considering the benefits of living more in tune with nature and applying these to support us to live a full and energetic life.
Our modern lifestyles have changed significantly in a short period of time, this style of yoga is designed to use the ancient wisdom of our ancestors to support our modern lifestyle, optimising our health and wellbeing throughout the year by focusing on exercise, diet, lifestyle, mindfulness and meditation.
I am Victoria, an enthusiastic RYT 200hr Seasonal Yoga Teacher specialising in the practices of Vinyasa Krama practices of Seasonal Flow and Ashtanga Yoga. Qualified in the practices of Asanas, Kriyas, Pranayama, Mantra, Anatomy and Physiology, Meditation, Chakras & Nadis, Chi Gung, traditional energy practices and philosophy of Yoga. Also including yoga for special circumstances, Chair Yoga teaching with music and NLP for yoga teachers.
I discovered my love for Yoga after unexpectedly becoming ill in 2014 when I caught Glandular Fever which resulted in being diagnosed with M.E / CFS in 2015. This has resulted in a long battle to regain my health.
Before this period in my life I was keen on all forms of exercise and enjoyed running and swimming. Unfortunately due to illness I could no longer enjoy such high impact pursuits and searched for an alternative. I found Vinyasa yoga in 2016 and instantly loved it.
Over the years my love for Yoga has deepened and my fascination with the history and ethical principles has lead me to study it in increasing depths.
In 2021 I was lucky enough to find a Seasonal Yoga RYT 200hr Teacher Training course, this is a year long course that brings together Yoga and Traditional Eastern principles of living in tune with nature and the seasons to improve and manage our health and wellbeing.
I am currently training for my RYT 300hr Seasonal Yoga Teacher Training Qualification.
I am also registered with the Yoga Alliance.
